Rough Cut

This is the rough cut of our music video PS I’m Still Not Over You. As you can see it is not finished and so far we have only recorded 2:50 our song. We haven’t got long left of the song it is only a minute and a half left. The song doesn’t start with any music as that is how the audio clip is but we will crop this as when we got feedback from our teacher he said the song should start straight away rather than waiting.
Once we edited all of our footage and put it all together we didn’t really like much of what we had recorded and we thought some of the bits were way too shaky to keep as our real music video so we have collectively decided to re-film the park scenes.
As you can see the editing is not up to scratch but due to the short period of time we edited it over we are hoping for it to be much better for our finished piece.

Feedback:
- So far I love how fast the videos cutting rate is
- When completed I think it will be a really good video
- The start of it is a bit shaky, this could be improved. I think it should be re-filmed in order for it to look a lot better.

- I think the opening of your video should begin with your main character

- You need to include Rihanna more in your video, get more close ups of her face and maybe body parts

First Draft Album Cover

As a group we feel that this Digipak doesn't look very good and we can do a lot better. We really struggled with what to put on the insides and we don't like what pictures we have actually picked. We like the front and the back but we will need to have a long, hard think about what we want on the insides and hopefully we will soon come up with a strong initiative.

First draft poster

This is the first draft of our advert for our Rihanna album. We are happy with how it looks so far but there are some improvements we need to make. For example we think we could get a better picture of Evangeline looking sad as I feel you can’t actually see her emotions. For our album we wanted to have her looking down and for the poster we wasn’t entirely sure what we wanted but from looking at how it looks with her looking down we have decided we actually want her to be looking up instead.

We decided to use the same writing as what we are planning on using on the album to keep consistency. I decided to do the title with spaces for Rihanna’s name as I saw this on one of Rihanna’s albums and I thought it looked really good and it also suits our poster’s style.

Editing

Today I began editing the footage that I and Rosette recorded over the Christmas holidays. I was simply looking at all the different bits we got and putting the ones I think would be useful into the sequence. I am editing using Adobe Premier Pro; this is quite different because Tracy who has now dropped Media did the majority of the editing last year. So this is quite new for me but I am not finding it to bad and I am happy with what I have edited so far and I will show Rosette and Nicole to see what they think. They as not in the lesson today due to having an exam but they will see it in our next lesson which is tomorrow and hopefully the like the bits I have cut and the shots I have selected.
When looking at what we have got at the minute we still need to get a lot more footage and I am slightly worried that some of the shots won’t fit as well with each other as we thought but we will see once it is all together. I also think we need to meet up with Joe and Evangeline more than intended to get some more memory shots as I don’t think it adds up to our storyboards that well but I will say this to Rosette and Nicole tomorrow and see what they think.
I also downloaded Rihanna – PS I’m Still Not Over You to the sequence, this is extremely useful so that when I am editing I can see how the shots fit with the actual song as we are trying to do some of the shots to match the lyrics.
Also I definitely think we need to get some shots of Evangeline lip syncing the lyrics I think this will improve our video a lot and make it more appealing to our target audience. This is also something I will discuss with them two tomorrow.

Filming over the Christmas holidays

Over the Christmas holidays me and Rosette went out and started filming for our music video. We met up with our actors Joe and Evangeline and it went ok but it could’ve been a lot better. Due to the weather, which was extremely windy and also raining it held us back a bit. Our hands were freezing and it was hard to hold the camera still to record our shots. We also didn’t have a tripod which made the job a lot more difficult as some recordings weren’t as steady as we would’ve liked them to be.
We also could only meet up with Evangeline once due to her going on holiday for nearly the whole of the 2 weeks. We are hoping to be filming again soon and this time Nicole will also be there which will be a lot easier with three people and to get someone else’s initiative. Nicole could not be there also due to being on holiday for the whole two weeks.
We’ve got some good shots which we were happy with and I think we will definitely be using some of these shots in our music video. Evangeline and Joe took it seriously which made mine and Rosette’s job of filming a lot easier and their acting was good and very believable. I think this was because they are actually a couple in real life so you can see the chemistry between the two characters when we were filming the scenes that will be memories in our video.
